zToggle

For all of us who jailbroke on 4.0 and don’t have the “wallpaper” and “Multitasking” features this is the app for you!!!

Here is the description that the developer of the app (Razi Iqbal) gave for the app:

For iPhone 3G iOS 4.0 only

Toggles for Multitasking and Background Wallpapers. No need to use redsn0w or Pwnage tools to toggle Multitasking and Background Wallpapers. This app will let you do that in seconds right from your iDevice. Note that this app is only for iPhone 3G. Users for other devices like iPod Touch can try but at your own risk.

Enjoy!!!

Installous 3.2.4

Another interesting update with a nice good-looking modification! You can make a user on the Settings page!!! Other than that nothing special so here is docmorelli’s (hackulo team member) post on the 3.2 updates:

“Months ago, I started a project called Updatr which had fantastic support by the entire community. People loved the idea of automatically detecting updates for the apps they had, and so did I. Hackulous was impressed with my work, and they invited me to work on the new Installous 3.

I cancelled the Updatr project after some final releases for bugfixes, which left some people upset. Dissident really wanted update functionality directly in Installous to make Installous a one-stop-shop for cracked app management, so my idea was to integrate updates into Installous 3. This has been accomplished, and it has now been publicly released.

I am very glad to have all of your support, and very glad to be given this opportunity by the Hackulous staff.

Please enjoy!  ”

Jailbreak for 4.0 firmware

Jailbroken 4.0 page (Cydia+Files)

Jailbroken 4.0 page (Cydia+Files)

Description:

This is a guide that works for the following:

  • iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G only
  • Mac OSX x86 and Windows
  • the 4.0 official FW only
  • Non-MC iPod Touch models (Settings=>General=>About screen=>Model)

Do not try this on any other iDevice, firmware or computer. This is a “Beta-version” that is why it works on specific devices; another guide will come out with new Jailbreaks. Ok so let’s get started!!!

Steps:

1)   Update your iTouch or iPhone regularly on iTunes (You may need to upgrade your iTunes to 9.2 beforehand) to 4.0 firmware (On your iDevice summary page).

2)   Download redsn0w 0.9.5b5-2 for Windows or Mac

3)    Unzip the redsn0w file and open the redsn0w.exe file in the unzipped redsn0w.

4)   After you opened your redsn0w press the “Browse” button and locate the 4.0 firmware you downloaded on iTunes (On windows: My Computer\Local Disc (c:) Documents and Settings\<Your User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates.

On Mac: ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates) And OPEN IT!!!

5)   When it finishes recognizing the firmware it will ask you    if you have an iPod Touch 2G Mc-Model you obviously click no.

6)   Next you click “Next” at the bottom and it will do some processes (“Preparing Jailbreak data”) and you’ll get a window with options of what you want the redsn0w to do to your iDevice. Check the first one (Cydia) and the rest choose what you want (I advise to check the bottom three).

7)    Press “Next at the bottom and the program will ask you to make sure your iDevice is churned off and plugged in.

8)   Then when you press next the program will show you how to get into DFU mode (10 seconds holding both home button and power button, and then 30 seconds holding only the home button). THIS may take a couple of tries but you’ll manage in the end.

9)   From here till the part where you have Cydia the program will do it’s thing. FO NOT disconnect or touch your iDevice in this process!

10) So after you saw the pineapple running on your iDevice and you saw the apple logo and everything’s finished, press the home button and open your jailbroken iDevice!

11)  Cydia should be on your second page so open it. The first time you open it it’ll do some “Reorganizing” and may close, but when you open it the second time it’s the Cydia we all love!!! (To download Rock from Cydia see this article).

Installous 3.2.2

Finally an update with a major change (weighs 1.2 mb)!

At the bottom of the Installous page there is a new section named “Updates”. This new section checks your cracked apps in addition to your regular (uncracked) apps.

Plus in the “Settings” section there is an option to turn On/Off “Local Notifications”.

There is nothing new in the other parts of Installous but here is a quick review for the people who didn’t update for quite a while.

“Browse”- You can check apps in any category according to Popularity, Apps and updates and just Apps.

“Search”- You can search for any app in Installous.

“Downloads”- You can see the downloading and installing process (the bar filling, time elapsed, memory etc.). Also you can install and delete apps in this section.

“Settings”- You can turn On/Off all kinds of options, Reload the Categories and see information about Installous in the “About” part.

Here are pics of the new Installous:

iTunes 9.2

Here is what apple writes about the 9.2 iTunes:

iTunes 9.2 comes with several new features and improvements, including:

• Sync with iPhone 4 to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on-the-go

• Sync and read books with iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4 and iBooks 1.1

• Organize and sync PDF documents as books. Read PDFs with iBooks 1.1 on iPad and any iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4

• Organize your apps on your iOS 4 home screens into folders using iTunes

• Faster back-ups while syncing an iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4

• Album artwork improvements make artwork appear more quickly when exploring your library

Here are some stuff they didn’t mention:

The whole library of Music, Videos, Apps and more have more ways of being divided (Genres and Composures in music, Genres and “Unwatched” in videos and more!)

An option to increase and decrease the size of the apps/movies/songs icon’s in your library.

The iPod summery is built much better with a nice iPod picture.

There is a lot new stuff you can check out for yourself which I didn’t mention.

Should I upgrade?

Yes I do advise to upgrade to this much better and more convenient version on iTunes. The download takes some time but it’s worth it.

Installous 3.1.12

No major adjustments from the 3.1.11 version, so updating is optional if you have no problems with 3.1.11.

If you have bugs on older versions of Installous so I recommend updating as fast as you can.

Enjoy your free games!!!

Installous 3.1.11

At last an update with a visible adjustment! There is no option anymore to turn on/off the “native installation” option, plus there is a “Reload Categories” button instead of the “Clear category cache” and “Clear icons cache” buttons. Other than that nothing new visibly maybe some other bug fixes. So here are the pictures of the settings page before 3.1.11, and the 3.1.11 settings page.

AppSync 4.0

Even though there still isn’t an official Jailbreak for 4.0 firmware for the public, the hackulo team has already made it possible to have cracked apps on 4.0 versions.

This app (appsync) makes it possible to have paid apps for free. Without this app Installous is pointless and downloading paid apps for free online is meaningless too. So if you have a 4.0 version and want appsync, check this article out  for more details.

P.S: The article on how to do it is pretty old so you should: 1) After adding the source download AppSync 4.0 . 2) The official website for cracked apps is apptrackr.org.
