How to jailbreak 3.1.3 firmware (redsn0w)

Steps:

1) Download redsn0w 0.9.4 to your computer, and extract it’s files (http://xs1.iphwn.org/redsn0w-win_0.9.4.zip).

2) Download the 3.1.2 custom firmware to your computer. For 1G iPods http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QSE4GTL2, for 2G iPods http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WKMQOXOL.

3) Double click on the redsn0w.exe file and run it. A window will open with a “Browse” button—click on it. Browse threw your computer files and find the 3.1.2 firmware you downloaded, and open it. When it successfully identifies your IPSW, a window will open asking if you have an MC model iPod touch 2g (answer no).

4) Click next and it will prepare jailbreak data. When it finishes it will give you options what to download, you’ll mark the “Install Cydia”. From here on the redsn0w program will guide you till the end of the jailbreak (Yippee!).

5) When you totally finished jailbreaking, you’ll have Cydia on the second page of your iPod. The first time you’ll open it, it will complete downloading itself and close automatically (in subsequent times it will work like usual).

  Important Rules:

1) This jailbreak is only good for iPod touch 1G, and the older version of iPod touch 2G (The non MC model version check in the “About” in your iPod).

2) This hack does not have Rock it only has Cydia.

3) This is for people who accidentally updated there iPod, If you can, it’s better to stay on 3.1.2 for now. (Blackra1n jailbreak).

4) This jailbreak will erase all of your iPod’s apps songs etc.

5) If the jailbreak stops in the middle just hold the home button and power button for 20 seconds (It may happen it happened to me just run the jailbreak again it and it shall work).

How to downgrade your iPod’s firmware back to 3.1.2

Description:

This guide will show you how to lower your iPod’s firmware if you upgraded it by mistake (so you can jailbreak it).

Steps:

1) Download the custom firmware you want to be on (for 3.1.2 firmware— http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FPENA9A0 ).

2) Backup your iPod on iTunes by right clicking it, and clicking backup (Wait till it finishes).

3) Get your iPod into DFU mode. When iTunes opens, hold shift then click the restore button and a browse window will open. Find your custom 3.1.2 firmware and open it. When you finish installing the firmware register your iPod as a new iPod without restoring old backups.

Your iPod is now on 3.1.2 firmware and you can jailbreak it with blackra1n!

P.S: If this doesn’t work wait for the next Jailbreak to come out
